There are a number of products out there marketed for those of us who experience high levels of stress and/or anxiety. I am always interested in learning about different ways that supplements, vitamins, and herbs can help with stress, but I’m also fairly cautious.

INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR IN STRESS GUMMY VITAMINS
L-Theanine– An amino acid found in tea leaves that has been shown to reduce stress.
Ashwaghanda – An adaptogenic herb that has been used historically to enhance the body’s resillience to physical and mental stress.
CBD– From the hemp plant, CBD is the substance that calms and mellows.
Melatonin – The well known sleep supplement can also help with calming at smaller doses.
Rhodiola Rosea – An adaptogenic herb that helps strengthen the body’s stress response.
Other Herbs – There are thousands of herbs out there. Many of them claim to help with stress in some way.

Customer Reviews: Berry Verbena flavor seems to be well-liked. 4.5 out of 5 starts on Amazon.
My thoughts: I’ve used these, and I’ve given them to my kids (½ at a time) to try to calm down anxiety spells. I keep some around for bad days. Worth a try if your stress levels are high.

Potentially helpful Ingredients: Passionflower, Lutein, Marigold Extract
Customer Reviews: Mango/Pineapple flavor sounds good! Reviews from around the web are overall favorable, but many came from a free trial offer, so I don’t totally trust them.
My thoughts: They sound tasty. I generally like supplements from this company and would be willing to try these. I don’t know about the effectiveness of of marigold extract, but passionflower is generally good as a calming agent.
Potentially helpful Ingredients: Magnesium, Calcium
Customer Reviews: 4.5 stars on Amazon. Reviews mention that these are good for kids, help with anxiety, and help with digestive health.
My thoughts: I haven’t tried these gummies, but I have used the Natural vitality Calm magensium supplement powder, and find it to be a yummy and effective way to get more magnesium into my diet. Magnesium is often recommended for people with high stress levels or anxiety. Generally it takes a bit for magnesium to build up in the body, so don’t expect immediate results.

My thoughts: My husband actually bought these last week. I made fun of him for getting ripped off, but I’m still sharing here. The thing about buying “hemp” gummies on Amazon is that Amazon doesn’t carry any CBD products, so these are marketed as similar to CBD but it’s unclear if they have any or not. Hubby seems to like these and isn’t complaining about taking them every day. So I say they are worth a try.

I’m going to write more about CBD in the future, I’ve come to really like it for mellowing me out. CBD comes from the same plant that THC comes from, so there can be trace amounts of THC in these products. Also, while CBD is federally legal in the US, it may not be legal in your state or region.

Winged Relaxation CBD Gummies – I actually got these at my local grocery store. They KNOCK me out. In a good way. Perfect for those days when I’m having trouble sleeping.
