Overeating can be something that many people struggle with from time to time. For some people, it can be a common occurrence. If this is something you struggle with, figuring out how to stop it is important – it’s not healthy to consistently fill your body with too much food. Below, you’ll find 4 rules to live by that will stop you from overeating.

4 Rules That Will Stop You From Overeating
  1. Only Eat When You’re Hungry

Really listen to your body and vow to only eat when you’re hungry. Because we’re so used to ignoring our bodies now, it can actually be difficult to figure out when we’re hungry and when we’re not. Staying hydrated will mean you won’t mistake thirst for hunger.

  1. Stop When You’re Full

Learning to stop when you’re full is also extremely important. If you keep eating until you feel like you’re going to explode, you’re going to stretch your stomach and you’ll get into the habit.

  1. Chew Slowly

Chewing very slowly, as much as possible before swallowing will give your body time to register when it is full. It’ll also stop you from experiencing any issues with digestion.

  1. Avoid Fad Diets

Fad diets are terrible because they do not fill you up, and they usually involve cutting out some kind of food group. Fad diets are not sustainable, and they deprive you. When you feel deprived, you end up wanting what you ‘can’t have’ even more. This means if you lose weight, you just end up putting it back on. The infographic below can tell you more.
